The Credenza has been designed and made to create a striking, tactile and functional piece of furniture.
It has been lovingly made by me in my Bristol workshop. All materials have been cut, machined, planed, sanded, joined, chamfered and oiled with impeccable attention to detail. Allowing each piece of material to be shown off to its full potential.
Solid timber (ash for this piece) battens create contrasting grains and tones against the birch plywood carcass along with the intense popping black shou sugi ban tops of each batten. This adds depth and texture to the piece.
Solid ash planks jointed together to create a beautifully bespoke top.
Tapered solid ash legs and base frame.
The carcass is jointed together using 18mm FSC certified birch plywood and a 6mm back.
The shelves can be set at a selection of heights using hand turned brass pegs.
The brass door handles are also hand turned and knurled in Bristol.
